The Yahoola United Cherokee Museum and Cultural Education Center, Inc, a Non
Profit 501C3 on Saturday and Sunday March 26th - 27th held the first
annual Yahoola Spring Powwow. The powwow is being put on to help raise funds to go
toward the construction of a world class museum in Dahlonega. We believe this to
be a historic event as being the first Powwow in Dahlonega. It was held atop Crown
Mountain at Findley Ridge in Dahlonega (behind the Shell Station)

the dates of Saturday March 31st and Sunday April 1st as the dates for the 2nd
Annual Yahoola Spring Powwow.t Public is welcome. Help us Build A
Cherokee Museum in Dahlonega. Come take a tour of an authentic Cherokee
home and articles that was typical before 1800's , come watch a dugout canoe
be crafted. A Plains style encampment will be constructed which includes a
tepee, to show the differences between the western and eastern tribes.
Watch Native dancers and participate at certain times. Don't want to watch,
join in, a t a tomahawk throw will be held you can test your skills while
having fun. Have you ever ate an “Indian” taco, you have a chance to, taste
that and other foods from Buffalo Burgers to Fry bread . Take some
memories with you, vendors will be selling Native American and Native
American style items.
